Why does choosing not to put something into my body that it doesn't need make me crazy? I've worked with infants for 10 years and never had a family ask me to be vaccinated for anything. If they had, I would have refused and dealt with the consequences. My body, my choice, not really your place to judge.[/quote]

With all the research out there, and as a nanny, I completely disagree. I am someone who does not believe in taking medication often. However, I also think it would be irresponsible to be around infants without a whooping cough vaccine. Adults can be carriers of whooping cough without actually having any symptoms and can easily pass it on to infants. ABSOLUTELY a parents place to judge.  My MB required me to have it but I had it already just from being around my infant nephew. Yes, I can site the MANY MANY proven studies that show this to be true, including reccomend anions by the America Pediactric Association. I am not a nanny who normally posts on DCUM, usually just reads along, but this is something I feel really strongly about. [/quote]
