I seriously doubt the sister is jealous. Reality is reality and people do think more highly of jobs that are more challenging, competitive, and provide upward mobility. Teaching a roomful of children is much more challenging than being a nanny for a small number of charges. The ECE degree is more relevant to teaching a roomful of kids than being a nanny. There are plenty of jobs that people enjoy which stay the same year after year. There is nothing wrong with this. You can be very happy being a nanny, working at a bookstore, or being a barista at Starbucks. Lots of people enjoy having less stressful jobs and the flexibility to move around. You do have to accept that other's will "diss" your choice but who cares.
I'm the person with the jealous sister. I must say, reading comprehension skills are very important, and it seems you don't have any. I have a degree (actually got one a few weeks after I finished high school through an amazing program) but its not in a child related field. I was a nanny for a few years, and my charge is leaving. I've accepted a job as a teaching assistant with the option to become a full on teacher after I take me last needed class. But it's okay that you doubt she is jealous. My whole family and even her friends can see it.
