Maybe this nanny gave the background that she thought her employers wanted instead of the truth. Really how much education do you need to be a nanny? Is there such an educational standard for parents? If you are the type of parent that outsources the care of your child to someone else then really what kind of parent are you? This nanny did a great job for years. If that means nothing to you then that's your loss.
Oh come off it. Parents hire nannies, grandparents, daycares, childminders, au pairs, babysitters, friends, neighbors, and teachers to help care for their kids, and it says absolutely nothing about "what kind" of parent they are. If this nanny didn't have the background these parents wanted, then she wasn't the right fit for them. They are allowed to have preferences just like a nanny has preferences about the people she works for. Lying by either party to secure a job/nanny under false pretenses is wrong. The nanny deserves to be fired.
