Started working for a family 3 days ago. Today MB told me to make sure her 3 year old DS always says please and thank you "because she doesn't want him to think its okay to talk to his parents the same way he talks to the help." I was visibly appalled. Should I reconsider my other options? I nothing else, this is just plain rude.
Your statement doesn't make sense. If MB wants to make sure YOU are having the child say his manners at all times then that means he is saying them TO you as well, rather than speaking rudely to you and nicely to others. I would be offended that in this day and age I was being referred to as "the help". I know that's what I am as a nanny, but their a word for it, nanny. Not "the help."
