As long as there are enough books, toys, art materials and outdoor spaces like a good backyard and park they are happy. If there are other kids in the neighborhood and park to play with they are very happy. While the activities that nannies love so much are not harmful for the kids, they really are a crutch for less engaged nannies to break up the day, address her boredom not theirs, and give her a chance to run some errands or socialize with adults.
