I am from Canada too, but we didn't have people over to our house and just start to breastfeed their kids without covering up or let people know so they could leave the room. As a nanny, I was uncomfortable the first few times I had an MB do that in front of me, but since my job involves me working with mothers that need to breastfeed, I got used to it quickly. In my own personal life, I would be fine with a close friend doing that around me, but I still get a little bit weirded out for a moment when someone that I don't know well just whips a boob out without saying something (or even if they do).
