I think ever MB end up being jealous of the nanny. They need to get over it. Of course little snowflake is going to be closer to the person who takes care of them most of the time. It's a played out concept. It's the same thing as a kid being closer to mom over dad in a traditional family--it's not bc the motherly bond is magical, it's because usually she is the primary caregiver. So... when the nanny is the primary caregiver, what do you expect?
I don't think kids are always closer to mom vs dad. It depends on the ages of the kids and their personalities. IMO infants and toddlers will be attached to the one who spends the most time with them (quality or not). When they get a bit older, its about quality of time with each other. Now that my kids are older, they play by themselves and with other kids more often. I have a really good nanny but she doesn't spend as much time talking to my kids--about school, activities, likes/dislikes, fears, etc. E.g., my son loves football and he learned that from dad.... Its his favorite topic for books, clothes, etc. My 4 yr old love both of us but is "closer" to me than our nanny despite spending much more time with her over the past 3 yrs.
