I just want to say to all of you bitter-sounding women/men...get off your high horse. This mother is looking for help and advice in a situation and your ranting and "yelling" via the internet does not help her at all. Especially to this person: "Woman - where is your BRAIN? There is a time to be nice/concerned/helpful... and there is a time to put the needs of your TWO year old and FOUR year old first. Where the heck is your brain? This is not "snoozing". This is someone who was dead asleep while your children (whom she was supposed to be watching) were screaming. If you're going to accept that as "child care" you might as well just lock the door behind you and leave them home alone... at least that way you could save up the money you'll need when your 2 year old ends up with a debilitating and life-long brain injury. Really, what could possibly happen with an unattended 2 year old and 4 year old in the house? Seriously -- I feel bad for her if she is depressed, and she might well be. But GET RID OF HER. Get her out of your house, ASAP. Then you can extend a helping hand towards her if you like... just so long as it doesn't in any way involve watching your children." You're not a very person. FYI...but I am sure you knew that already. :) Good luck to the Mom that wrote this initial post. My heart goes out to you. I pray that you make the right decision for your children (most importantly), your home and yourself. There's always "another" nanny. I agree with a poster above who said to be sure to hire (if you decide to do so) a person that has a license and interests outside of the home. A young 18 year-old girl with "no way out" of her working environment could be a recipe for disaster. :( It really stinks that your last two nannies haven't worked out. I hope it hasn't totally burned you on the idea. You know what they, "3rd times a charm". Good luck! :)
