Yes. I actually like that the mom wants to start sleep training. I just had to watch a child tonight that has never been properly sleep trained. She is 3 years old and I had to lay down with her in bed (after trying to get her to sleep without doing so over 45 minutes). Even after laying with her, it took her another almost 45 minutes of this before she went to sleep. It was insane. A sleep trained child should be able to go to sleep with a few stories read, and someone saying goodnight and turning off the lights, telling them to stay in bed. I have never had to go through such a production of putting a child this age to sleep before! This is why I am against co-sleeping after a certain age. Nap times are almost as bad, unless you just let her get so tired that she falls asleep while out in the living room and just carry her back to the bedroom.[/quote]
