This is an excellent question because it brings up important issues when it comes to driving while on-the-job when working as a Nanny. Yes, I think you should let your insurance know for liability issues. And if there is an increase in your auto premium than your Nanny Family should definitely cover that extra co$t in my opinion. If your employers do not want to do this, then it may be ideal if instead they provided you w/a vehicle to drive their kids to school + activities. Good luck! :)
This isn’t the way car insurance works. When you sign up for a policy, you select what coverage you want (collision, comprehensive, etc) and the policy limits (e.g $100,000 per accident). The insurer doesn’t care about who you are driving, they just need to know what limits you need. OP needs to look at her policy limits and see if she should increase anything in light of the children. If she increases any limits or adds additional coverage, there will be an increase in her premium.
