Honestly if the 2 and 4 year old play well together, the job may be HARDER with a single 3 year old bc the nanny will have to be the playmate all day. I'd give $1 increase for sure.
This. Not only do you think that it’s getting easier and so it doesn’t deserve a pay increase, you’re not looking at the long-term ramifications. If you do this now, I guarantee you will not have a nanny when the little one starts preschool part time. My nanny will already have another family lined up, because they will believe that they won’t have a full-time job when the child is in part-time preschool. if you want to keep the same nanny as her children go into full-time school, you will need to increase your hourly rate to keep up with a full-time rate. If you think that you can cobble together, college students or part-time nannies after school, talk to the parents of the kids in your oldest child’s class now. Consistent, reliable after school help is the single hardest thing for parents to find. All you have to do is keep your nanny. Good luck.
