Dear OP, The most fair thing is to offer her the regular hourly (overtime) rate. Being on-call is work. You can’t do whatever you may want to do. You never sleep as well when at your job, and you might need to jump out of bed any second. I hope you’re giving her the standard 5/hr increase when she has the added responsibility of your baby. Maintaining continuity of care for your first child is critical. Congratulations on the upcoming birth your second child.
Why do people congratulate about pregnancy and giving birth? I have never understood this. Neither is an accomplishment considering that this happens millions of time every day,!
-100000000 I sure wish this miserable excuse for a person…..and even more so for a Nanny would find a better hobby than to come on this forum & say mean things. He/she gets off on insulting others it appears. Kudos to all of you that ignore this loser and keep scrolling down. I need to follow your lead. Lol. ;) This person may have just unknowingly showed why he/she is so bitter & angry. Perhaps they have never ever had the joy of having a child of their own thus the mean attitude shown on this thread. It scares me that any parent is entrusting this rat to stay alone w/their precious child. I wouldn’t leave them alone w/my pet goldfish…..
I am neither angry or bitter. Also, I am not a nanny. I think getting pregnant and giving birth is not an achievement. Graduating summa is an achievement. Writing a book is an achievement. Having a baby is not remarkable in any way.
