Here the living wage is $13 an hour. Everyone I’ve spoken to from care.com charges $10ish an hour. Just for reference, it’s very different from DC. Everyone who works as a nanny is 18-22 years old and either a college student or has young children of their own. None have a degree, none are professional. I’ve had a couple friends who nannied and they were paid $6-10 an hour. So $20 is WAY over the standard rates here. [/quote]
