There are standard benefits, such as: Paid time off - at least 2 weeks per year Federal holidays off paid if employers are off Paid sick time Reimbursement for gas if she uses her car ...and there are extra benefits Paid cell phone Paid gym membership Contribute to health insurance
Reimbursement for gas is not a benefit!
I fully agree. I would label anything “extra” as a benefit. Paid vacation/time off days are the most common. Others include: Health insurance stipend….even full access to the food in their kitchen or unlimited access to their laundry equipment would be considered an awesome benefit since many Nannies do not make very much.
Want to understand this more since I'm employing a nanny for the first time in a few weeks. Is it considered bad if I'm not providing lunch for the nanny? She is free to eat whatever snacks that the kids are having, but I don't have the energy to make her lunch as well as preparing everyone else's lunch. My kid is only 15 months old so while I could prepare a larger portion of his food for her to eat at lunch, I didn't think she would enjoy it. I just eat random leftovers usually, or sometimes cup noodles with a poached egg, can of sardines with with toast and raw veggies -- super basic stuff.
