I have such a heart for serving a family and their children, and making their lives easier by standing in and doing what they aren't able to do at home because they are at work. I miss the DC area and all the fun things to do there and would love to be a live-in up there during the week and come home on weekends ( I live in N. Carolina). That's all a dream for now though, as my special needs kids need me pretty much every day (they will always live with us) and I can't imagine my husband trying to care for them by himself. For now, I'm enjoying reading the Nanny boards and learning how things are nowadays. I'm actually trying to convince my daughter to be a nanny up there after she graduates from high school (she's in 8th grade), and have begun training her to be ready in case she is interested. Maybe I'll live vicariously through her. :)
