The issue is getting to and from the trailhead. Where I live, the best trails are about an hour or more drive away. It doesn't make a lot of sense to drive separately, both due to gas costs/ parking fees, and also many of the best trails have very limited parking. Not to mention that the drive is more entertaining with a friend. But if nanny is carpooling to and from the trailhead, spending perhaps 2-3 hours roundtrip in the car with another person or two, THAT is problematic. [/quote]
