I try to be out in 24 hours too, but it’s not always possible.  And I never fly.

When I travel to a family, I bring my own pillows and linens, along with my clothes.  That amounts to one suitcase and two military duffels.  Then I have a couple bags of books, a bag of cleaning supplies and a jug of detergent (I’m allergic to dyes and perfumes, so I make sure I have something to use while the family uses up what they have on hand), toiletries, hangers, etc.  Then I have the tools of my trade (nanny and homeschool educator): several bags of books, a bag of coloring books and activity books, a couple bags of various workbooks geared to the current and next ages in the family, manipulatives for math, fine motor control and phonics, flash cards for various ela and math topics, science experiment books and tools, clipboards, magnetic white boards, letter and number magnets, and dry erase crayons, colored pencils and markers.  If I take the train, the bags are condensed into boxes, but I really prefer to drive.[/quote]
