OP here. I knew about the job posting. The first 3 weeks went well. We both seemed very happy. The took their job posting down, etc. Then I got the fourth week. Before being sick that week, I was always there and 5-10 minutes early everyday. On Wednesday the parents said they needed someone more dependable and opened the job posting. We had a talk that night and they said they didn't want to look for someone else. They really like me but calling out on the fourth week being sick was making them concerned. I understood, but I worked with an infant, and it's flu/cold season. We talked about moving forward but they said I couldn't miss any more work as neither of them had time to take off after both taking maternity and paternity leave. I had to miss Thursday ( they still wanted me there on Friday), and then Friday because I still had a fever, was vomiting, and had some diarrhea. My charge is 3-months-old and requires being held for all naps. There was no way I could take care of him with all that going on. I reached out to them on Friday and Saturday, and today with no response. I'm assuming they decided to find someone else, but I expected to at least hear from them to let me know that I'm no longer needed. [/quote]
