Things like letting the 2 year old child play on the balcony alone, leaving her in the bath tub alone, and the big one of all, the toddlers bedroom was a literal closet. No window. No sockets. A walk-in closet connected to my room. It was weird to me the moment I got there but after watching them offer up melatonin and try barricading the toddler in the room with her crib because she could now climb out of it, I felt compelled to say something and before doing so I discussed it with my sister who works for CPS who informed me that not only was it wrong but it was illegal and as a mandated reporter from my teaching position I could get in trouble as much as the parents. So I tried to bring it up to the mother seeing as this was her house first and she immediately blew up at me and told me to give my 30 days. On top of this there were a number of other things that made me not sad at all for this experience to be over. But as of the last week or so they’ve been on a new nanny hunt and found someone to take my position but I overheard my boss tell the new nanny that she can start as early as the following week even though I don’t leave for another 2 and a half weeks. My overall question is is it within my right to demand she not let the new nanny take my hours seeing as I’m still gonna be living with her for another 2 1/2 weeks? I’m technically not fired it was a mutual agreement that I’d leave but I still have bills to pay back home and almost 3 weeks without work will ruin me. Is it within her right to just let me suffer and risk losing my apartment because she won’t let me work? [/quote]
