Me too!  I had one amazing Thai au pair - she cooked awesome thai food, was organized, took initiative, and she's still a good family friend.  She worked as a nanny after she aged out of the au pair program, and just got her US citizenship.  
Our 2nd Thai au pair was on the dating scene as soon as she set food on US ground.  she asked for the day off to get her marriage license.  it was a year of hell with her.  one major example of her antics her bf met her at the playground while she was in charge of my kids.  she's now married and has a kid and lives in a different state.

I think this is actually an example of the au pair process in [i]general[/i] - you never know who will eventually walk through your door - and this is true for all nationalities.
