But since your question was about rate, I'd ask nanny what she wants to earn or what she earned previously and then increase it some. For me, I'd say $35-$40/hr would be bare minimum. Shares really pose more of a risk when I think of accepting a job, especially if families don't know each other well and/or have never had a nanny. So again, if i can get $30-$35 with much less responsibility, why would I risk accepting a share position? And yes, $25/hr for one child is very common in this area. [/quote]
