It’s not a big deal but I don’t understand why parents want nanny to accompany them on doctor visits. If you want nanny to meet you there because you have to head to work afterwards then it makes sense why you’re both present (nanny could wait in the waiting room). Or, if you are unable to take your child, then, nanny can take them and provide feedback. But if you can be there, let nanny stay at the house, clean up or plan activities (or come in later) and you can give the full run down when you get back. Sometimes I think parents just want to show off they have a nanny because there’s no valid reasons why we all gotta be there. Hell, I don’t make dad go to doctors appointments unless it’s serious and I/our child needs moral support.
I am a nanny and I want to be at doctors appointments. Sometimes my charge’s parent forget to ask a question or I have a question. It has nothing to do with anyone showing off! I also want to know their doctor in case there is ever an emergency when the parents are away. Buck up, OP. Do your job and stop making the rest of us look bad.
