The alternative is to obtain a waiver from the AP’s home country. However, my understanding is that China rarely issues the waivers. There is no harm in applying for the waiver. If the waiver is granted, she can then apply for a student visa. If the waiver is denied, she will have to go home for 2 years. [/quote]
