Hi parents and nannies my best friend and I have been in a nanny share for the past 2 years and our nanny we absolutely adore her. We were really hoping to have the oldest kids in pre school soon but waitlist are still very long we will at least be on for another year and my best friend may or may not get in for another 6 months. My question is how much extra should we pay our nanny we both are expecting I'm due in 2 weeks she's due in 2 months. Naturally we are doing maternity leave but next year she will have 4 kids. Currently we do 10.50 a piece, 2 weeks vacation, 1 week sick, bonus every 3 months , holidays and full pay when we travel. How much should we add for the additional children.
You first need to find out if she even wants a share with four kids--many nannies don't, in which case you either need to find a nanny who does or hire a second nanny for the infants. The benefits sound fine, though the pay is low (but may depend on where you live). Ask your nanny what her rate for four would be, if she's interested. I'd guess maybe in the $36-$40/hour range if she's making $21/hour for two toddlers, given that you're adding two newborns. But start by asking if she even wants to do this--and look around at other preschool options for your older kids too to see if you can solve the problem that way.
She is so excited about the new babies she even found a for kids stroller for them so she can continue to do outdoor activities. We definitely do want to find a preschool for the older kids the ones that we found even a few that are Nanny recommended all have a one to two-year waitlist and the school I really want to go with we have been on the waitlist since I was 3 months pregnant with our first child. And also if you do get into a preschool parents who have kids that are already go there that are adding The Sibling gets priority which is making our wait longer so as of now we really have no choice she will have all 4 Kids thankfully she has potty trained the older two so hopefully her workload won't be that much but she is very excited and wants to take care of all 4 kids
Okay--then the next step is just to find out what her rate for all four will be. It sounds like this is the only viable option at the moment, so it is what it is.
