Please remember to factor in travel time.  If you live 10 minutes from the preschool (like my charge does) and the nanny should be there for pick up 5 minutes early (to account for traffic), then nanny only has 2.5 hours at the house.

Also, I’m not sure what you plan for light housework, but these are my suggestions for that 5 hours weekly:
1. Meal plan for the following week on the first day, and write the grocery list for those meals.
2. Do kids’ laundry (wash/dry/fold/put away, no ironing) on the first day.
3. Change kids’ sheets and wash/dry/fold/put away on the second day.
4. Run one load of kids’ towels (if enough for a full load) or change kids’ towels and leave in communal hamper for you to wash with the rest of the towels (second day).
5. Mass prep fruits/vegetables for 2-3 days (both days).
6. Research activities, set up play dates, and write weekly log (second day).

You’ll find that 2.5 hours twice weekly isn’t really that much.  Yes, a lot can be accomplished in five hours, but it also depends on what can be left to be finished on the second day.  If you are open to clothes folded and not put away, or in the dryer, but not folded, more can be started and finished later.[/quote]
