Yes, if you’re an employer you pay employer taxes and if you’re an employee, you have taxes withheld. I’m asking parents if they would pay around that price range, weekly, for a nanny (if they did not have to pay those extra expenses). [/quote]

Why would they pay cash to you and risk getting caught/tax issues later on when they can pay someone that with taxes?  Why would an employer pay groceries in less you live in?[/quote]

Also, I’m not sure where you’re located but I know lots of nannies who employers buy them food to keep at their house for the week. It may not be hams and turkey but they buy stuff for them which is another expense! [/quote]
