Sorry nannies, when there are no children at home, you need to step up and provide some "added value" if you want to be paid. That might mean doing the the kids' laundry and cleaning their rooms, running errands, shopping, cooking, other household tasks. Apart from firemen (who have to hand out at the station), people just don't get paid to be on call. Being "On call" is part of the deal for many jobs that receive similar annual compensation to that of nannies. [/quote]
