So yesterday afternoon my charges and i were returning from an appointment in a city a few miles over from where they live. There is a park at the halfway point that they love because of all the rock climbing walls and different types of monkey bars and other climbing activities. So i had packed food etc and we stopped there. We were about to leave and a guy had something like a brick and was raising it in the air and as i screamed from across the way he shattered my front passenger window looked around to see who screamed and grabbed my purse from the floorboard under my passenger seat. He must’ve seen the strap sticking out but i have really dark tint so i honestly don’t know how he saw that before. He cut his arm really bad and fled with th my bag. Thank goodness he was in such a hurry he left my actual wallet in the middle console and my iPad on the seat. He probably didn’t notice the iPad because it’s in a black case. Glass went all over the place and I swear I felt like i was above watching it all happen. I regret even screaming because the eye contact terrified me and he could’ve hurt us. I usually put my things in the trunk but will make sure to do so every time now. I immediately called the police then called my mb. I knew there was no way I could drive them in my car because glass was covering every surface and their seats. After I finished with the cops mb showed up a little later. She ran to me and hugged me and told me to come back to the house so that she could help me cover the broken window. Once there I covered it and she gave me the keys to her husbands car, her debit card and $40 cash. She told me to take the car (he’s traveling for business until Friday) and the money and card in case I need anything. I kept telling her i was fine and she refused to let me leave empty handed or to drive with a garbage bag ducktaped to my door. These people are angels and I hope everyone else has good people like this in their corner. She worked from home this morning so i could get replacement cards and deal with insurance. She called me later to tell me that they decided to give me my Christmas bonus early to help me out because of the unexpected things happening. Everyone have a blessed day and remember to be a blessing to others no matter how large or small the act is.
