You're being very unreasonable and should consider a different line of work. The point to having a nanny is to have someone with the kids when they're sick or on vacation from school and to have someone at the house so if you're stuck late at work or hosed up in traffic you don't have to worry about the day care center closing or charging a dollar a minute. NO ONE gets home at the exact same time every single day. Stuff happens. Stop adding to their stress. Your job is to reduce their stress. Please, find a new job. Everyone will be happier.
I do. I always plan a half hour into my commute to make sure I have home on time to relive our nanny. If our nanny didn't arrive one time, I would fire her. How could I expect less of myself? Plus, as a PP pointed out, there are two of us - one of us can always be on time. OP, talk to your employer. You don;t need to send a text or an email. The next time one is late, stress the importance of being on time and tell them the position this puts you in. I feel very strongly that if you are never late then they should never be late (barring a true emergency, of course).
Maybe I will take that route (just talking to them). The mom has said numerous times they're trying but I mean come on. I do understand traffic but I come from an hour away and I make sure that I leave out early to ensure I don't run into major traffic. I typical arrive almost 10 minutes early and I am opening the door right at 7:30 every morning. I hate being late, it doesn't sit right with me :) Thank you for your response!
