We have a basement bedroom (which is the nanny's), with an attached bathroom.
She has almost exclusive use of the bathroom, but the kids are allowed to use it.
our laundry and family room are also downstairs- she has no expectation that we will not enter those areas.  She does have a expectation that no one will enter her bedroom.

I would not enter into a live in situation just b/c it is the only way you can afford the nanny.  
If you do you have a lot to think about- ex food.
Our nanny eats dinner with us most nights, and we pay for all of her food (unless she goes out with friends, etc.)  This actually adds substantially to our food budget.
Similarly- our water bill has gone way up since she moved in b/c she does small loads of laundry constantly.  Our electric bill is also up b/c she is terrible about turning off lights, etc.[/quote]
