We did this recently. We added a card in her name to our existing account. We could do it online easily with her name and SSN. Her name is on the card and it has a unique number, but it's tied to our account (so we get the points) and controlled by us limit-wise. We put a $200 monthly limit on it and have alerts for spending. Works great. Note: if your nanny uses the card to get gas, gas stations put a $100 hold charge on as soon as you access the pump, so you may immediately get a spending alert when that happens. This alarmed me the first time, so passing it on.
Us too. Her spending limit is higher ($700 - she does a lot of shopping for us) but it is just an add-on to my account with her spending broken out, so I can eyeball it and would pick up on any irregularities. I had to call and ask my credit card company about it 4-5 years ago, because they didn't want to have to set a separate credit limit for her, but when I threatened to cancel my account altogether they figured out how to do it!
