She said in her previous position, she took the toddler out on the bus constantly: to the library, to the playground, etc.  To her, it is safer than driving.  I do not have an issue with public transportation in and of itself, but would personally find this extremely taxing from a logistics point of view.  Carrying the baby, wrangling a toddler, carrying a diaper bag and maybe a stroller..waiting at the bus stop, coordinating schedules to time well with naps and feedings...it sounds like a nightmare to me.  However, she seems pretty confident that its really not an issue.  I should mention that she is Korean and taking the bus everywhere is pretty standard in Seoul.

There is not that much within walking distance and in any case, she would be picking up our son from preschool everyday at 12:30 with the baby in tow.

Any experiences out there with non driving nannies who do similar?  Thanks.
