I am a nanny to an adorable 4.5 month old boy. He was month early so age adjusted is around 3.5 months old. As most know, babies require a large amount of sleep. My charge has been taking a long morning nap for past week, which MB says is too long. He isn't scheduled but does have a somewhat predictable routine ( see below). He has been taking a 2-2.5 hour nap in the morning instead of his 1-1.5 hour nap. MB wants me to wake him up after 1.5 hours but he gets so cranky because he's tired. I told her it's normal and he needs to sleep. It hasn't altered his day much except he dropped mid-morning. How can I make her see she is doing more harm than good by making me wake him. He gets overtired and either naps all afternoon ( 3-4 hours) or barely naps. He sleeps 15-16 hours in a day. Wakes at 7, 6oz of milk, play Nap 8:30 -9:30/10 ( now 8:30 - 10;30/11) Wakes, eats, 5oz, play, go on adventure ( classes, walk, park) Nap - Dropped 11:30/12 ( one hour) nap. Now naps 1-3/:30 Wakes, eats 5oz, more adventure or inside play Naps 5/5:30 - 6/6:30 Wakes, eats 5oz, plays with MB ( arrives 6/6:30) Bedtime routine starts at 8 ( bath, bottle ( 6oz), book) Sleeps 9 - 7, may wake 3/4 for feed
