How much are you paying, how much do you like this nanny and what are your specific objections? If you are paying a decent rate and not terribly fond of the nanny then cut and run. If you are getting a steal and/or are especially attached to this nanny then it might make sense to come up with some kind of compromise. The one that comes to mind is she hires a teen to come watch her kids for part of the day (such as during the part of the day when she normally takes your kids on an outing, or during naptime's, or some other part of the day that addresses your concerns)
LOL! Now we are hiring nannies for the nannies children?!?!?!?! This board is absolutely outrageous. Not only do you want all the informality of being a nanny and the numerous perks, but you also want all the formality and perks of a real job (at least the ones that benefit you, but none of the ones that don't.) This board tries to raise nanny pay to astronomical levels, you want pay for days you don't even work, you want taxes withheld but want more pay to make up for the money lost to the government, you want weeks and weeks of paid vacation above and beyond what any normal job would get, you want carte blanche for sick days since "being around kids makes nannies sick", and on and on and on, and now you want the ridiculous perks of not only being able to bring your own children to work thus avoiding the costs of childcare that all other working parents must pay (even those making $8 an hour) but your BOSS MUST HIRE AND PAY A NANNY TO CARE FOR YOUR CHILDREN AT WORK?!?!?! ARE. YOU. #%&$ING. KIDDING?
You sound like you're losing your shit. What the hell? PP said nanny could hire a teen to watch her kids, not that OP had to pay for it. OP, do you have a contract? If you do, this shouldn't even be an issue.
Yes. Those of us with reading comprehension can all see that no one suggested that the OP should have to pay for a nanny for anyone's kid but her own. But if the nanny is going to be required to put her kids in inexpensive camp or hire another nanny to care for them, that is going to eat up her entire salary and she is going to quit. If OP wants to avoid that, she could think about a situation where the nanny hires someone to care for her children for part of the day while she is at work. If she can bring her kids with her and supervise a teenage babysitter, then she will be on hand to ensure that the teenager is doing an adequate job. I would not leave my kids all day with a teenager, but if I was working from home I would feel differently.
