This person is just trying to stir the pot & create an unhealthy debate. That being said, you don't necessarily need a contract, but it's a good idea to have things in writing for clarity purposes only. I wouldn't expect it to a legally-binding document by any way, shape or form. Things to include: • Hourly rate/OT • Whether payment is to be paid weekly/bi-weekly • No.# of annual paid vacation/sick days, if any. • Household duties, if any. • Requirements to keep CPR/First Aid + shots current. • Gas/mileage reimbursement rate to be paid if applicable. • House rules Hope you find this useful.
