I applied to an ad that need ASAP care for their child while the were packing up a house to move. The dad replied back ( fairly quickly) asking if I was ok with the hours, location, and the child's routine. I replied back that I was. I was assuming I likely got the job but 3 hours later and no follow-up response from the dad. I reached out and asked if they had chosen a sitter. Still nothing. I feel it's incredibly rude to not respond even if it's to say " No thanks". A part of me dele like I want to write him a message about him not responding back. It's proper etiquette and sad that communication and professionalism is going down the drain. Would you wrote or just move on?
There is nothing to gain by responding in such a negative way, yes a response would be nice but they are the people looking to hire and their home. The person looking for work should always be professional and nice that is if you want a job. The minute you decide to get back at a potential employer, even if you are in the right, you will lower your chances dramatically in even getting a reply let alone an interview, you will have a hard time getting hired period.
