Don't do any of that MLM (multi level marketing) crap. Mary Kay, jewelry, skin care. You'll drive your friends away and it isn't worth it. Look into call center/customer service work. Amazon, Comcast, etc.
Just curious if you've done this kind of work and are speaking from experience?
NP here. Couldn't agree more. Yes, I have had experience. It's basically a ponzi scheme.
I agree that many of these companies are not worth getting involved in. I will just say this -- I am a full-time nanny, working about 47 hours a week. I have ALWAYS turned my nose up at ANY mlm company. But I saw some people I know working for Rodan + Fields and researched it for 4 months before jumping on board, and the reason is that they are different from other companies -- different compensation, different corporate structure, no inventory to stock, no parties.... So don't throw away the option before you research it. Look up articles by Forbes and Harvard Business Review. If you are interested in a home-based business on the side, research it for yourself. You will know if it is something for you. And I haven't lost a single friend because I don't pressure anyone to buy from me. They know what I do and the ones that are interested have come to me themselves. The others just know it's one of my jobs.
