My rule of thumb is $8-12/child/hour, depending on how much authority I have. If a parent wants to micromanage everything, they pay $12/hour; if I can set the nap schedule and take children to a new park without getting permission, they pay $8/hour. If this is three families, rather than one set of twins and another toddler, the rate goes up to $10-12/hour, because I would have to deal with three sets of parents.
$12 times three per hour?
If the families bicker and it affects my work, absolutely. If the families felt that they could treat me like a doormat or a teenage babysitter, absolutely. Each family would still be paying less than if they hired a nanny solely to work with their family, and I'm willing to put up with parental shenanigans (to a point) if I'm paid well. Going with the typical 50 hour work week in a three child, three family share $10-12/hour/family: 40*10+1.5*10*10=$550 40*12+1.5*10*12=$660 I don't think tacking on $100 per family each week extra is exorbitant if the families cause issues with my working environment and/or control the manner that I do my work. Nanny gross for the 50 hours would be $1650-1980, completely understandable for a three family share.
