It's as legal as any other contract. There's no law that says it has to be filed anywhere.

However, no one is going to sue you. Instead, they will give you a bad reference. Do your best to work out the notice. They may let you go when you quit anyway.[/quote]

Uhhhh... Because that is contract law 101??  There might be evidence problems and arguments about what was actually agreed to but to call someone awful for stating a pretty fundamental principle of law is pretty absurd.  [/quote]
