I agree, but you fail to acknowledge the fact that many parents tend to avoid that good business nanny. They're attracted to the ones who'll put up with almost anything.

Honestly, I know that my nanny would ask for a raise if she felt she deserved one.

But I have been in the place of this nanny, afraid to ask for what I deserved at work because I wanted them to like me or see me as a good value.  I think that a lot of women on here have, nannies and MB's both.  I am sure that I have seen studies that women are so much less likely to ask for raises than men.  Your friend doesn't have to be the "business type" to ask for what she deserves.  Just schedule a meeting with her employers and ask.[/quote]
