I can't speak to whether Georgetown is nice or safe.  It's DC, there are tons of activities for kids, some within walking distance, some by metro, some that would require driving.  A little research (under 5 minutes) and you could have a list of over 20 things to do with a 2 year old.

If it's the family I'm thinking of, they're Brits, not likely to be interested in a nanny with a gun.  Please disregard the PP.

Salaries for live-in nannies vary everywhere, based on what the parents feel the position is worth.  My personal opinion would be that DC could support $650 or more per week for 47.5 hours.[/quote]
