I'm looking for a great nanny for my 13-month-old son. Must be OK with 2 large dogs. They do have an area to stay away from the baby, however please still be comfortable with and a dog lover. I work, Law Enforcement, and need someone that is flexible. Sometimes I get my schedule the day before, however try to plan for a week at a time. Care would be needed, typically 3-4 days a week, from approximately 6 a.m. -3:00 pm, however, if time changed slightly later, I need someone flexible to that as well. Must have your own reliable transportation as well. Previous nanny was being paid $50 a day, I'm looking for someone interested in 50-60 a day. Please let me know if you are interested!
Care.com What makes this person think they should have a nanny? Why not a in home daycare or a regular childcare center? They should be ashamed of themselves.
It's posts like this that make this board the most reviled on dcum. You have nothing better to do than go to another website, find an add for a person trying to do their best on a limited salary and with job commitments they can't control, and then copy it here and belittle them? There is a special kind of hell waiting for people like you.
I see posts like this and worse. Yes, there are people out there that say that they are nannies. No, they don't behave the way that parents or professionals wish they would. However, what do parents expect when they advertise for rock bottom rates? Heck, according to the post, the parent is in law enforcement, so should be quite aware that he's breaking the law. I don't think it's unreasonable to point out ridiculous posts, and I've posted some crazy ones in the past. Most nannies see more crazy posts than normal positions advertised.
Exactly. Check out "MD - Nanny Search" on this site. Parents want to pay you an amazing $8.30/hr. for full-time twin toddlers for a grand total of $1500/MONTH!! But you must be ok with cameras. So pathetic how whey can afford cameras, but not a living wage for a nanny. Unbelievable. They'll soon be running to the police and the press with their "caught you on tape" camera footage of abuse. What a surprise. Why don't these people care about their children?
I took a position that was about $1500/month as a starting wage, but I lived in, was new to nannying, and my boss gave me plenty of other benefits to compensate for not being able to pay as much as he felt the position was worth. Anyone with experience can get a lot more, especially for live-out. I saw the twin post too. What I found most interesting was that it's 9 hour days "with wiggle room" and that an early start of 7 am "would never be more than twice in a single week." In other words, they need a nanny who can live on $1500 per month, and is willing to block off the whole day and into the evening for them, so the only chance she would have to have a part-time job would be after 8 pm (in case they are late: wiggle room), overnight as long as she could be at their house no later than 7 am, and weekends. I grant, at $173/week per twin, they aren't likely to find a decent daycare, but if they can't afford daycare, they certainly can't afford a nanny!
