I am looking for a nanny/housekeeper that speaks a specific language and most of the native speakers of this language are SAHMs of middle income households in DC area. I definitely need the nanny from 12noon to 4:15pm or 4:30pm Monday to Friday. That works out to be 22 hours a week. During these hours, the nanny will pick up my preschool from school, give him lunch that I have prepared and get him to sleep at 1pm. After that this nanny will prepare simple dinners for the family, light cleaning. I will come back home between 3:45pm to 4pm to take over the house and the nanny will drop off my older kid (who just comes back from school) at the after school activities. And she will go home from there, usually between 4:15pm to 4:30pm. I will wait for my preschooler to wake up and go pick up my older kid from the activities. But if the nanny is willing to clean the house, I can have her start the work day at 10am, which will bring the total work hours to 32 hours a week. I am just wondering, given the demographic of native speakers I am targeting, it may be easier to just advertise this as a 22 hours a week job with light cleaning (and find a housecleaner separately), rather than a 32 hours a week job from 10am-4:30pm. What do you think?
