My contract states that I'm reimbursed for mileage. I don't have it in front of me at the moment but I think it's .33 per mile. I've never asked for it because the family was living in the city and everything was literally within the same block and it was summer and we stayed near the apartment all day. However they moved to more suburban area and the kids have started school. I found it strange that mb wasn't already offering it seeing how she included it in my contract. I let it go until it really mattered because from the moment they moved to the state we knew they'd be moving and I was assuming she was waiting until I was actually driving a significant amount per day. Fast forward 2 months and nothing. Also mb will occasionally ask me to pick up things for the kids and used to leave a $20 bill. Lately she has been telling me to just leave a receipt and she will reimburse me. Last week I stopped by a farmers market on the way home with the kids and got enough fruit and veggies to last them for a while and for the smoothies that I make for them daily. I left the receipt in our communication binder and she still didn't pay me back stating she thought her parents left it. Why would grandparents do that? Especially when we discussed that I would get them some fruit. I forgot about it until after the weekend and saw she had bought more. I reminded her and she says sorry etc. I told her she could give it to me at the end of the week and that it's fine. Back to the gas. Mb picked schools before they moved here. The schools are in completely different counties. The kids are also in various activities. I am currently driving back and forth 210 miles per week min. This does not include my commute or personal trips of course. This has been the third week. I asked her to reimburse me tomorrow for gas and she replied she's happy I mentioned it and we would need to sit down and discuss that and responsibilities for when the kids are in school. Currently I do kid laundry and dishes and put away all dishes, not in contract, run errands, oversee cleaners and maintenance men, food prep, empty kids bathroom waste baskets(they both use pull-ups and it smells horrible) All for 7:45- 6:30 Mon- Fri $900 gross Kids are in school 3 hours per day mb states during interview that I didn't have to do anything during school time but be available in case of emergencies But I use the time for my chores and keeping their spaces tidy, plan arts and crafts and home schooling work and lessons like site word cards etc Also she has me come around for when people like pest control or cleaners come and emails me what to tell them to do. I think I'm basically being treated as a house manager. I don't mind the other but not sure what her paying me to be available and reserving those 3 hours has to do with my gas and wear and tear Should I be concerned about this and what she thinks she is about to do? Any thoughts from other mbs about her thinking Thanks in advance and I'm on a phone excuse and repetition or typos I have 11 years experience This is my 4 full time family Associates degree in early childhood Cpr and first aid
