If fam 2 can't actually afford you long-term, would you/they consider a share?
OP here. They can afford me. I think they wanted daycare for the socialization. Daycare is actually about the same or more expensive than having a nanny in my area.
I am a nanny and former preschool teacher in Los Angeles and I take my charge to a "class" everyday - Music Together and a Parent & Me along with three different story times at the library and a good 45 minutes in the library playroom before each story time. In the afternoons we go to the park and have play-dates. He is very socialized and gets one-on-one attention from me as well. A much better preparation than daycare and the best of both worlds. Take #2, OP, and as PP said - knock the parents' socks off with how great a nanny can be for their child's development!
OP here. I agree. I am very active with many infant classes, play dates, parks, etc. I'm also very attentive and on the floor with my charge the whole time. I so not use the tv or my cell phone when he/she is up. Also, many positions that will start in Jan. are usually in the area I live now, so the short-term or long-term aspect will work either way.
