Such negativity. Life happens, you don't know the circumstances of the move. And the family obviously has a great relationship with the nanny- which is why they are asking for advise on appropriate gifts. 
I would say that a nanny would always appreciate a monetary gift but if that isn't an option I would think a thought out card would mean just as much![/quote]

You sound like a great employer who truly values the benefits that your nanny brought to your family. All employers should take notes from you.

As a nanny myself, I can truly state that nothing is better than cold hard ca$h, however running a close second I DO love gift cards as well.

And/Or you could do something hand made from your daughter if she is old enough, like a craft from her.  :-o [/quote]
