I make my background check available with my references when I meet (and like) a potential family. Background checking anyone working with children is the LEAST any parent can do. And to OP - I am sorry this got off on the wrong foot. Try to put it behind you. My current employers are new parents and I have had to teach them a lot (they didn't even know what guaranteed hours were). They aren't bad people just inexperienced and a bit thoughtless. Give this couple another change if you like everything else about the job. [/quote]
