While I think you have good intentions + sound like a very kind-hearted person in general OP, I do not think it is such a great idea to offer your services up for free just because it is your boss's birthday.

I mean, imagine if you worked in an office job for example. You wouldn't offer to work late one night or come in on a Saturday afternoon and work for free just as a birthday gift for your boss, would you? Same dynamic.

It may be opening up Pandora's Box per say and showing them that you are the type of person who is very [i]eager[/i] to please which is not a good asset to have as a nanny because this can come back to bite you in the butt tenfold.

A better idea for your boss's birthday aside from staying later (w/pay, I hope!) is to have you and the child(ren) make a nice, homemade birthday card for her and present it to her when she gets home. That should make her very happy.  :D [/quote]
