They used to do this often after any holiday as well, ask me to work extra hours which they would not pay for because of the paid day off.

Before I send the calculations to my MB, I want to make sure I've done this correct.

This past week:
Monday:paid holiday (11 hours paid)
Thursday: 7-6:30 (11 hours guaranteed plus .5)
Friday: 8-6:00 (11 hours guaranteed)
Total:33.5
