Probably because she was already making a huge salary and if it was made public, people would take Mariah's side and say that she was paid more than enough for a day's or week's worth.

It's not the people's business to decide how much is too much to pay to the nanny.  She and Carey must have had an agreement on her pay rate. If Carey underpaid or didn't honor it, she should do what she committed to do. It doesn't matter if Joe Schmoe thinks it's too much and the nanny should just be happy with what she got.[/quote]
